Connect intervals.icu to Claude
Claude can read your intervals.icu history and plan your week on its calendar. Blocks is the bridge: it syncs intervals.icu and serves it to Claude as a hosted MCP connector, so there is nothing to install and no API key to keep in a file.
Three minutes, four steps
1Create a Blocks account
Free, with Google or a code sent to your email.
2Connect intervals.icu in Blocks
Open Connections and connect intervals.icu: sign in with your intervals.icu account, or paste a personal API key from intervals.icu Settings → Developer. Your history, rides, planned events and wellness come in.
3Add Blocks to Claude
In Claude open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and paste https://blocks.zone/api/mcp. Claude opens a Blocks sign-in once; there is no key to copy.
4Ask
Claude now reads your training through Blocks. Try one of the questions below.
Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code and other MCP clients: the same address, configs on Blocks for Claude.
What Claude can see and do
Your rides and runs
Every activity intervals.icu holds, with its laps, detected intervals, time in zone and records. Garmin, Wahoo, COROS and Zwift rides that reach intervals.icu reach Claude too.
Your plan
Planned sessions and races from the intervals.icu calendar, next to the ones you plan in Blocks.
Sleep and readiness
Resting heart rate, HRV and sleep from intervals.icu wellness, plus your own morning check-in.
Writing the week
Claude proposes sessions and writes them only after you say yes. Send plan puts them on your intervals.icu calendar, which forwards them to Garmin, Zwift and the rest.
A sourced science base
Training questions are answered from reviewed studies with evidence levels, cited by name.
Questions to start with
Questions
Does intervals.icu have an MCP server?
Not an official one. Community MCP servers exist; they run on your computer and need your intervals.icu API key in a config file, and most do not work in claude.ai on the web. Blocks is a hosted MCP server with a normal sign-in, so it works in claude.ai, the Claude apps, Claude Code and other MCP clients.
Is it free?
Yes. Blocks charges nothing for the connector, and Claude's Free plan allows one custom connector. The conversations run on your own Claude plan.
Can Claude change my intervals.icu calendar?
Only after you agree. Claude shows the sessions it wants to add or move and writes them when you say yes; then they go to intervals.icu with Send plan.
Does it work with ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex?
Any client that can add a remote MCP server over HTTP with OAuth can use the same address.
What about Strava?
Connect it in Blocks the same way; see the Strava guide. Most athletes connect one of the two.
