Connect Strava to Claude

With Strava connected to Blocks, Claude sees more than a list of activities: the intervals inside each ride, how it compares with what you planned, and a calendar it can plan on. Blocks syncs Strava and serves it to Claude as a free MCP connector.

Three minutes, four steps

1Create a Blocks account

Free, with Google or a code sent to your email.

2Connect Strava in Blocks

Open Connections and connect Strava. New rides and runs arrive on their own, usually minutes after an upload, with their intervals detected.

3Add Blocks to Claude

In Claude open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and paste https://blocks.zone/api/mcp. Claude opens a Blocks sign-in once; there is no key to copy.

4Ask

Claude now reads your training through Blocks. Try one of the questions below.

Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code and other MCP clients: the same address, configs on Blocks for Claude.

What Claude can see and do

Your rides and runs

Every synced Strava activity with its detected intervals, laps, time in zone and personal records.

The plan next to it

Your Blocks calendar: what was planned, what was done and what was missed, so a review compares the ride with the session.

How you are today

Your morning check-in, and sleep and HRV if you connect a wearable.

Writing the week

Claude proposes sessions and writes them only after you say yes. They go to Wahoo, Garmin, Zwift and the rest through intervals.icu or a file.

A sourced science base

Training questions are answered from reviewed studies with evidence levels, cited by name.

Questions to start with

Review my last Strava ride. Did I hit the intervals?
How much did I ride each week this month, and is that enough for a 100 km event?
Build next week around 6 hours with two key sessions.
Estimate my FTP from the last 90 days and say how sure you are.

Questions

Can Claude read my Strava data?

Through a connector. Connect Strava in Blocks and add the Blocks connector to Claude; Claude then reads your synced activities, their intervals and your plan.

Is it free?

Yes. Blocks charges nothing for the connector, and Claude's Free plan allows one custom connector. The conversations run on your own Claude plan.

Will Claude change anything on Strava?

No. Claude reads your rides; what it writes is your Blocks training plan, and only after you agree.

Does it work with ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex?

Any client that can add a remote MCP server over HTTP with OAuth can use the same address.

I use intervals.icu too. Which should I connect?

Either works; intervals.icu also brings your planned events and wellness. See the intervals.icu guide.
